Control Unit Underway

I've finally had a bit of time around work to get back to this. The last major piece to do is the control unit, and since a) I expect this will take several attempts to get right, and b) I only left myself a 14x20cm space for the whole unit, meaning I'll definitely need four layers, and possibly even six, it could get very expensive and time-consuming to make multiple versions. To avoid this, I'm building an initial prototype using multiple smaller boards that slot into 164-finger PCIE slots. This should let me prototype without any real space constraints, using cheaper two- or four-layer boards, and rework individual boards one at a time. Once everything works I can then try to flatten it into a single compact board that fits into the space I have.
